The Truth

Why is the Truth so offensive to people? Why is telling the Truth so hard? Why is it doubted by so many people? Jesus said, in John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." How can you deny that?

I suppose if you don't acknowledge Him from the get go, it's hard to see that He is the Truth. I suppose if you can't give Him credit for dying and suffering for your sins and mine, it's a lot harder. And then, the fact that lying is so much easier to do, so much easier to swallow, to accept and to live by, that is why the Truth hurts.

Acknowledging that Jesus did exist is irrefutable. Historians and scholars have declared that He did exist. A man named Jesus, born in Bethlehem, from Nazareth died crucified on Calvary. He truly existed. That is not debatable. Now, acknowledging Him as Lord and Savior is the matter. If you do, you know what I'm talking about. If you don't, your opinion will be completely different. If you believe in Him, as the Truth, you understand how wrong telling a lie is. It is one of the Ten Commandments. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

A lie is a lie. No matter how big, no matter how small. It's right or it's wrong. It's black or it's white. You can not manipulate words to make them work for you. Well, you can, but it's wrong, that's the problem. You can agree or disagree on something, but there will always be an absolute Truth. That's how it is. And to change that is impossible. Not everyone can be right. And trying to manipulate the Truth to fit your own personal agenda is wrong. The Truth needs not to be manipulated, it's of it's own.

My favorite example of this is a skit, by One Time Blind, titled The Red Balloon. I find it explains this so much better than I ever could. You should check it out, it's on Youtube. While you're there, feel free to look up their other skits too! They are awesome.

I think this topic is bothering me a bit more lately, especially since Christmas is on it's way. Christmas is the beginning of Jesus's story. His birth and His beginnings on earth as a King. It's the beginning of the story of Truth. As Creations is the beginning of God's love for us. So many people dismiss this part of Christmas, when it is the essence. Christmas isn't about receiving presents and drinking eggnog. It's about God, sacrificing His Son, for out sake. Forget the giftwrapping and remember the Gift. Saddly, so little even realize, or worse, chose not to accept that this gift is Truth. Not only that, but this gift is everlasting life. All that is required is belief and repentance. See John 3:16.

I simply can not understand how someone would chose not to believe this Truth. But then, to attack those that do, is simply uncalled for. Saying that raising your children in this belief is cult like and makes you crazy and unfit to parent. Wouldn't lying to your children and not showing them right from wrong be worse? You can disagree with someones way of parenting, everybody takes the liberty to do so. But attacking some one and their children, because they chose to practice moral judgment and respect the Truth and do right and not wrong. That is low and that person, hopefully, will see that in themselves and choose to believe and repent.

"But the funny thing about Truth is, it's True weather you believe it or not."
